44° North Idaho Potato Vodka. 44° North Distillery, Rigby, Idaho — a five-times column-distilled vodka made from 100% Idaho® Russet Burbank potatoes, blended with Rocky Mountain water from the Snake River Aquifer, delivering the creamy, smooth, and slightly earthy character of genuine potato vodka at an Idaho origin that is as authentic as the ingredient itself.
The name marks the latitude: 44 degrees north is where Idaho's famous potato-growing belt runs, spanning the volcanic lava plains of eastern Idaho where the combination of rich volcanic soil, high altitude, and the Snake River Aquifer's pristine water creates the conditions for the Russet Burbank potato — the same variety that made Idaho famous and that makes this vodka genuinely different from grain-based alternatives. The distillery uses the Brundage winter wheat when producing their wheat expression; for the Idaho Potato Vodka, 100% Russet Burbanks go in, and nothing else.
Potato vodka has a distinct character: a naturally creamy, slightly full-bodied mouthfeel from the starch and sugar structure of the potato, a subtle earthiness that grains don't produce, and a clean, neutral finish that makes it exceptionally smooth to drink neat. Five-column distillation refines the potato spirit without stripping its character, and the Snake River Aquifer water — among the cleanest groundwater sources in North America — provides the mineral-free profile needed for a true ultra-clean vodka.
