The 2019 Carmignano Riserva Grumarello is fresh and heady, mixing camphor with steeped plums, hints of white pepper and licorice. It's soothingly round and pliant, with a stimulating core of minerals and exotic spice underscoring masses of ripe red and black fruits. This finishes only gently tannic, with admirable length and concentration.

This has notes of olives, sour cherries, currants and sandalwood. Firm on the palate, with chewy tannins, a medium body and juicy, slightly rustic finish. Try now or in 2024.
Winemaker Notes
Pale ruby red color with evident garnet reflections deriving from the maturation process. On the nose it is fine, intense and harmonious with a broad and complex bouquet with notes of black fruits, tobacco, clove and leather. Excellent harmony and body enriched by great persistence and an excellent acidity.
To be combined with large dishes of red meat, furred and feathered game. It is advisable to uncork the bottle and possibly decant at least one hour before consumption.
